Welcome to your wellness journey! My style is to partner with you, utilizing a client centered approach and creating an individualized treatment plan for you. I have success in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma, but treat most mild to moderate mental health conditions. I can help with life transitions, grief and loss, sleep disorders, panic attacks, depression, and increase your motivation for change when you feel stuck. I am Level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, and certified in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), certified in Rational Living Therapy (a version of CBT), and am trained in Sensory-motor and Somatic (body) work, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure-Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These tools can facilitate inner child and attachment healing work, emotion and affect regulation work, and boost Self energy/discovery. I will help you to create an individual treatment plan just for you and keep you on track toward your goals. One of my favorite things is to help you overcome fear of failure or feeling not good enough, and help you manifest the life of your dreams!

Hello, I am Susan VanAllen (she/hers), LCSW 87695. I have 11 years of experience working as a therapist. I worked for several years as a behavior therapist and have worked assessing people for risk of suicide, as well as supporting clients to recovery from trauma. For several years I worked in a community clinic helping people just like you to feel better. During the pandemic I found teletherapy to be just as effective for most people as meeting face-to-face and went into private practice. I believe that all people have the power to heal from within, and that a therapist's job is to help clients discovery the path to their inner resources or Self.
